Organic Farm Info

Uganda Organic RFA Bugisu, meticulously sourced from family-owned, organic farms nestled in the Bugisu region, gracing the slopes of Mount Elgon in the Kapchorwa district, Uganda. This exceptional coffee originates from the ancestral lands of the Bugisu people, indigenous to the area. The Sipi Falls coffee project, inaugurated in 1999, takes its name from the awe-inspiring trio of waterfalls adorning the landscape. Its mission is to enhance the quality of coffee production in the Bugisu region while fostering sustainable incomes for the dedicated farmers who cultivate this exquisite brew.

Location: Sipi, Kapchorwa District, Uganda

Altitude: 1,500-2,500 M

How is it Processed?

Washed & Sun Dried:

  1. Ripe coffee cherries are picked.
  2. Pulp is removed from cherries.
  3. Beans are briefly fermented in a water tank remove the mucilage, or sticky layer, that surrounds the beans.
  4. Beans are washed in clean water.
  5. Dried on raised beds in the sunshine.
